Cyber64 and Würth Croatia
CHALLENGE
The Würth Group is a global leader in assembly and fastening materials, operating more than 400 companies across 80 countries and employing over 86,000 people worldwide. As part of the international Würth Group, Würth Croatia operates one of Croatia’s leading B2B ecommerce platforms, serving professionals across multiple industries.
Over time, Würth’s Adobe Commerce ecosystem had grown in complexity as the platform evolved to support an expanding range of business requirements, integrations and custom functionality.
This created the opportunity to further improve the performance of key purchasing journeys, especially large B2B orders with dozens of products, while making the ecommerce platform and mobile application easier to maintain and develop over time.
Würth also wanted to expand its use of Adobe Target Recommendations and strengthen the existing setup to support secure, GDPR-compliant and measurable personalization in production.
The goal was to create a more stable and scalable foundation for continued ecommerce development, improve the digital buying experience and give the team more room to focus on future improvements.
SOLUTION
Cyber64 worked with Würth across three areas: platform stability and performance, release quality across web and mobile, and Adobe Target personalization
Strengthening platform stability and performance
Cyber64 optimized critical purchasing processes, improved ERP integration reliability and introduced better monitoring to identify and resolve issues faster. Frontend and backend improvements addressed performance bottlenecks, while the technical foundation was streamlined to make the platform easier to maintain and evolve.
Strengthening release quality across web and mobile
Cyber64 introduced a more structured release and quality process across the project. Automated tests were added for critical mobile journeys such as cart calculations, shipping logic and product validation, with failed tests blocking production deployment.
The mobile application was also improved across stability, search, product display and usability.
Building a secure personalization setup
Würth wanted to use Adobe Target to deliver more relevant product recommendations to different B2B customer groups. Cyber64 rebuilt the foundation for this capability, introducing proper consent management, securing the product data used for recommendations and establishing reliable audience segmentation and measurement. Würth can now deliver different recommendation experiences to their customers while measuring how each audience responds. The homepage recommendation experience was also modernized to support customer context, pricing, stock information, quantity selection and Add-to-Cart functionality.
Faster B2B commerce
Cyber64 optimized Würth's eCommerce platform to deliver faster, smoother purchasing experiences for B2B customers.
18x
Faster homepage response
Initial server response dropped from around 4 seconds to just 220 milliseconds.
~50%
Faster recommendation response
Response time for large carts decreased from 4.8 to 2.56 seconds.
RESULTS
Processing time for large B2B carts improved by almost 50%
Many Würth customers place complex, multi-product orders, making speed especially important in B2B purchasing.
Cyber64 reduced Add-to-Cart processing time by 1.5-2 seconds across key purchasing journeys. For large carts, response time within the recommendation component fell from 4.8 seconds to 2.56 seconds - an improvement of almost 50%.
For Würth's professional customers, this means less waiting while building complex orders and a smoother purchasing experience.
Homepage response became more than 18× faster
Initial server response improved from around 4 seconds to 220 milliseconds - more than 18× faster. Browser processing was also reduced by more than 80%, while the Google PageSpeed Performance Score increased by around 22%.
80% reduction in maintenance effort
As platform stability improved, maintenance processes became more efficient - the share of project capacity consumed by maintenance fell from 54.34% in April to 10.7% in June. That is an approximately 80% reduction - or around 5× less capacity spent on maintenance in just three months. This created significantly more capacity for new features, customer experience improvements and strategic ecommerce development
More reliable releases, with zero rollbacks
Würth and Cyber64 established a predictable monthly delivery cycle with quality checks before changes reach customers. During the observed period, no production release required a rollback or revert, and no critical production bugs were reported in connection with newly delivered features. For Würth, this supports the reliable introduction of new functionality in a business-critical ecommerce environment. Automated testing catches mobile issues before release Automated quality controls now cover 100% of mobile application pages and validate critical customer journeys before every production release. Failed tests automatically block deployment. This gives Würth a stronger safeguard against regressions and supports more reliable mobile development as the application continues to evolve.
Personalization became secure, measurable and actionable
Würth can now securely deliver personalized product recommendations to different B2B customer groups and measure how each audience responds. In the first measured month after launch, recommendations reached 6,510 visitors and achieved a 3.07% overall click rate. The data also showed clear differences between customer groups, where some groups achieved a 5.86% click rate - almost 2× the overall average. This gives Würth a clear benchmark for refining recommendations and expanding personalization across additional B2B customer groups.
BUSINESS IMPACT
The collaboration has helped establish a more stable and predictable ecommerce operation, creating a stronger foundation for continued digital development.
Customers benefit from faster purchasing journeys and a more responsive webshop, while Würth now spends significantly less project capacity on maintenance and can focus more resources on new features and improvements.
More structured quality controls have further strengthened release confidence across web and mobile and support the reliable introduction of new functionality.
At the same time, Adobe Target has become a secure and measurable personalization capability. Würth can now measure how customer groups respond to recommendations and use those insights to refine personalization.
Overall, the project has given Würth a stronger foundation for continued ecommerce growth, with better performance, lower operational overhead and clearer customer insight.
